Starting in 2005, Myndflame created "Zinwrath: The Movie", a highly successful comedy known for its game-related humor, high production values, memorable characters, actors, and an all original soundtrack. Later evolving into the "Illegal Danish" franchise, "The Ballad of Dirti G" promises to continue the story in shorter episodes with more emphasis on character and story development with a shorter production time. The Prelude A glimpse of the future, the Prelude to "Illegal Danish 3" focuses on the star character, a powerless but ambitious gnome named Dirti. In this series of events he undergoes a dark transformation into "Dirti G", making him incredibly powerful under the supervision of the sinister Van Kraken. The premise of the prelude is to foreshadow the story to be told in future episodes in a clever parody of Blizzard Entertainment's Starcraft 2 Cinematic trailer. About "Illegal Danish 3: The Ballad of Dirti G" Van Kraken has created his ultimate brew, the flask of ten thousand souls. The flask is so powerful that only by combining it with the power of the Illegal Danish can it be consumed without fear of death. Even coming into contact with a single drop could be fatal, so Van Kraken forces the remaining residents within the corrupt city of Gnomeregan to help him build a device capable of containing its power. While evaluating the device he realizes that it's been designed only for a gnome, and with his enemies closing in and relations wearing thin with his allies he must quickly find a susceptible gnome to harness the power and lead his army of Kraken Knights. About Myndflame Myndflame is the collaboration of the two Hackleman brothers: Producer & Composer Clint Hackleman and Video Editor & Director D.W. Hackleman. Together they're responsible for all the various tasks during production from the first concept to the marketing and publication of professional Machinima productions as well as fun fan-films that share their experiences and ideas through unique and fresh storytelling. |

Oh...My...God...
This is your best work ever!
I can't even imagine how much work youhad to do to get those custom animations in, but that was absolutely awesome!

Really great work. Loved the atmosphere and it seems you guys really tried hard to emulate the original as closely as possible within the limitations of the WoW doodads available and it really shows. Things like the marine's entrance and the coming together of the armor, not to mention the editing and camera anglers were all spot on. I specially liked some of the random stuff written on the screen when he becomes 'active'. Neat little touches like that shows that you guys care.
I have 2 criticisms however. One is the animation at the end, definitely looks like he's talking even if the sound of the lips smacking is there (which is very low btw like everyone pointed out), definitely needs to be more subtle because it just ruins it towards the end. Secondly it seems like you guys hardly worked on the cuts in the end when you can see other parts of the starcraft universe in the original (like kerrigan's eyes, random fighting and the marines coming up for attack). For me personally these were the real epic parts of the trailer, teasing you with a glimpse of something truly spectacular and letting your imagination do the rest. To that end I would have loved to see some more care and attention to detail in these scenes (specially considering they're like a second or 2 each). I know its your piece and you chose this representation, but I only bring it up because I know you're capable of some truly insane and gorgeous looking stuff, from your previous work. Both these complaints together essentially make it seem like you guys put in a lot of effort in the beginning of the movie but just rushed it in the end to make the advertised deadline. I'd say go with the blizzard approach next time and release it 'when its done.'
Overall great piece machinima, but definitely could have been more memorable with a little more effort on the machinima and a little less time building up hype for the release.

Dirti saying "Hell It's about time" was cool and funny from the Starcraft 2 game that will soon come out.
