Description: So I recently started working on this machinima series named FI5VE. It will be about five gnomes with "unique" wow classes (Those five classes gnomes can't be that is). The series will be comedy with a little bit of action and each episode will be about 10 minutes long. Also I got to give alot of cred to Genna Bain aka Eriyanna for taking the time writing the script for the series and for voice acting as Ellie Lightspanner. This was supposed to be the actual opening which would be shown in the beginning of every episode but if I would finish it I felt that it would be too long for a 10 mintute episode so I decided to make something more short and sweet but the new opening you won't see before we release the first episode. Another reason for not using this opening is because I don't think the music fits too well but for the new one Calle Nilsson aka Irdeen have composed this awesome short 'n sweet song so I bet that will do. And ofc this intro looks a bit too serious and too much action in my opinion and I think it's a bit hard some times to take gnomes too serious (atleast for some people). Still I release this because I don't wanna throw away my work without a comment on it. :P If you wanna know more about my machinima projects then visit: http://x-crosspictures.blogspot.com/ Thanks for watching! |

Wow! I know you had somthing serious in the works, but this is impressive to watch! I'm getting a Saturday TV super hero Team feel from this intro, which maybe what you're trying to avoid, but I do like it all the same!

Well the new intro which i'm working on now is not the same at all. It's more like comedy looking but ofc they are a little super hero team. The first episode might be done in a month or 1 and ½ (if I get no problems that is) so you'll see the new intro + the first episode then ^^.

Cool, hope it comes out well. Also great work on the intro X-Cross, the 3-D animation came out well. Gnomes FTW!

Maybe you could finish this opening for all of us? Once the series gets going of course.

Well, I rather work on the actual episodes then this intro because the intro shouldn't be the most important part right? Even tought i'm working on a new one with less action :P

The song is the instrumental version of Karma by Bump of Chicken. Just in case anyone was wondering...

I played both Abyss and Symphonia, and personally I thought Abyss was way better :P If you haven't heard the Non-Instrumental (The Japanese Version, The Instrumental was for US Only), I recommend you hear it, the music sounds a lot stronger, but only if Japanese lyrics are your thing. Besides the music, great vid!

OK, i'm sure this question comes up tons but I have to ask, what programs are you using and do you have any good tips or tricks for using them?
I myself, have what I like to call a lack of original thought a.k.a. I have a hard time thinking up new Ideas from nothing but I work extremely well when I combine things to create new objects. My point being that this is my first real attempt at trying soemtihng creative on this scale and I'm just curious how you did some of these things. I'm a tech-geek so I has a good overall understanding of program use (currently working on a degree in Networking and Operating Systems).
On a side note, thank you for the video opening even though it won't be in the show. It helped push me to finding out how so many of you guys create such wonderful art.

Yes i've gotten this question alot recently but i'll just answer it quick.
Programs:
Adobe After Effects CS3
Adobe Premier Pro CS3
Adobe Photoshop CS3
Fraps
3DS Max
WoW Model Viewer
I guess those are the most important programs that I use. I don't got any tips more then watching tutorials. You could watch Oxhorns machinima tutorials, those should help you out alot. Then you could watch some videocopilot.net tutorials if you wanna get in to some more advanced and also baisc training with Adobe After Effects.
Good luck!
