i've got a question. I've got a brand new computer, with vista on it. And i've done some research But could not find any version of model Viewer that could run on Vista.  anyone out there  know how to "fix" this? orIsent it possible to get Model viewer on  windows vista?

The latest WMV should work fine with both XP and Vista.

I have vista, and modelviewer runs on it, although not perfectly..

It has more to do with the version of WoW you have. Check if your game client not too recent for the latest modelviewer version.

Later versions of the program should make it more stable with said OS, it has nothing to do with what version of WoW you got, since it doesn't affect WMV more than enabling you to check on more models.

Well, it does depend on client version at least to an extent. I know that the latest WMV doesn't work with pre-WotLK versions of the client. Even the error message said that when i tried it on 2.4.
I don't know whether the smaller patches have an effect because i stopped playing wow and i dont update the client.

The real problems come in when you try to get mapviewer to work... I still cant figure out how to use it on anything other than a 2.4 build.

Newer version are of course made for the latest patches, and might not work with older patches as you said. But on a side note, you can update wow even if you don't have an account.
