The danish satirical comedy series "Chapper og Pharfar" (Chapper and Pharfar) is a series about two crackheads, who does nothing but smoke weed and try and gain fame in the World of Warcraft. Half the show is live-action and features the two geeks engaging in all sorts of fun, while the other half is called "Kampen om Crackdiamanten" (The Struggle of the Crack Diamond) and is filmed entirely in-game and follows Chapper and Pharfar in their ongoing quest to find the legendary crackdiamond.
Now, I, for one, think that this show is hilarious and strongly encourage any danish people to watch it, if you have just some love for the game and universe. While the story may be lame, it's supposed to be that way and should bring up a little smile on your faces. Please keep in mind, that it is entirely in danish, but some parts may be enjoyable for other nationalities as well. The show contains many inside jokes, such as "How much does your intelligence buff give?", so you have to be into the game to understand many of the parts
NOTE: Contains harsh language at some points... and bad acting!
You can watch the entire first season here: http://www.dr.dk/chapperogpharfar/
It is also out on DVD, which I will definately buy!
I hope that this will evolve into something big later on, perhaps opening the possibilities to watch more machinima on TV - it's nicer to sit on your comfy couch and watch a movie than on your chair, which makes your butt hurt.

Well, it took me some time to actually figure out if it was a one-time episode (like the South Park one) or an actual series.

"sell it" is such a dirty word. They'd need permission from Blizzard for broadcasting it over national TV, I think.
Isn't selling on DVD selling anymore?

I don't know if Blizzard would be too fond of the crackhead concept used in the advertising of their games on national telivision. But i haven't watched the series, perhaps its utterly harmless..

I'm pretty sure that they have obeyed all of the machinima rules and guide-lines that they have brought up. It is a professional team who stands behind it, and I'm sure they'll have contacted Blizzard before using it. Then again, it's a national TV-station, so I think that Blizzard would do anything for some free advertising on TV in one of the countries where the biggest percentage of the population play WoW.

Also, the concept itself is quite harmless and South Park isn't much better at many points. It's way more harmless than South Park.

Darn me and my inability to comprehend more then one language! Oh well. I wish the show best of luck, it is a step for getting machinima out to the masses.

I've seen this "Chapper og Pharfar" 2 times, and it's PRETTY WEIRD :S
I don't quite get it :S
One time they should play some music in a church for some kids, but one of them got sick, so he needed to call his other friend to help him out... and this friend was on something :S and then the kids ran away and stuff :S don't quite get it xD but it is nice waste of time ^^
